Hello all, I am looking at doing some trials with underfill under 1mm pitch BGA devices. Can anybody share any good / bad experience with this process ? Also I probably will not be in a position to procure automated equipment so are there any man

Hi Paddy, There's been a lot of low cost second user underfill equipment around recently, I've seen stuff go for as low as 20K - but make sure a dispense head is included. Good luck, Rob.

Destacker will not separate 1mm thick boards

My UIC destacker does fine with 2mm thick boards. However, I have to hand feed the 1mm thick boards. I have seen vacuum board placers for small boards but not for large boards. I need to get a solution for 24" x and 16" y boards that are only

I'd check into the ASYS LSB-03 Bareboard Destacker. It isn't a gravity drop style. It uses edge clamps to clamp the top PCB on the stack and then drop it on the transport rail. So it doens't destack from bottom to top, it destacks from top down. We

mickd, I prefer a rail of 7.62mm (0.300"). This alows for the tooling pins and fiducials without any trouble and minimizes the waste. A fiducial of 1mm round with a 1mm clear area around it. Jerry

ENIAC, 0.040" equates to 1mm, not 0.1mm. 0.040" is the IPC minimum recommended fiducial size and when we started putting fiducials on our boards I assumed that all equipment manufacturers should be able to automatically spot that size. Since then I'v

Accuracy of placement +/-100um @ 5 sigma

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 20 12:10:20 EST 2003 | frank

Well, let me take a shot... +/-100um = 0.1mm 5 sigma = is the number of acceptable defects (or placements outside of that accuracy (or tolerance). I believe 5 sigma is 233 defects out of 1 million, but I could be wrong on that. So basically all pl
