Micro Solder Balls in No Clean Selective Solder Process

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 09 13:39:48 EST 2008 | ck_the_flip

Mask finish is the #1 variable for micro-balling with wave and selective processes. The #2 variable is the Flux. There are some flux formulations out there who're known to have additives that virtually eliminate micro-balling. However, keep in min

Best Alpha Lead Free WS paste??

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 17 17:54:22 EST 2008 | dman97

Stay far away from the WS619 paste. It is a nightmare to get a decent solder joint out of it. And dont get me started on voiding issues with this paste. We eventually started to use Indium 3.2 lead free "water wash" paste and this drastically reduced

Good luck with that. If you can find a source for 10X-40X zoom scopes on a boom stand with a fiberoptic illuminator for $200 let me know. The light systems new are about $250. As a point of reference, I think we paid about $2k for a Meiji system l

Thanks for the info. I use the machine with a 1mil for resistors and capacitors and the machine with the 2.6mil for ICs (both have a 4mil.) This is because the r's & c's seem to benefit from the 1mil, more than IC's. I was thinking of making the mach

Right angle PTH lead profile = blowholes

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 18 09:34:06 EST 2008 | realchunks

Try lifting the part with a small piece of paper. I've seen caps that did this and giving the flux a way to vent out the top side of the board got rid of the blow holes. It'll take ya 2 seconds to to try - that plus the 3 minutes to wave solder.

"A minimal ventilation rate of 0.05 cfm per square foot," This would be per Cubic Feet correct? In our factory that would be about 40,000CFM.(3 ACH) If we wanted 10 ACH we would need apprx. 120,000CFM. We probably have about 2,000-4,000CFM currently.

If you do not want to buy a new feeder there should only be 2-3 parts you need to change on your CP-4 feeder to make it an 0802. the only difference between the 0804 and the 0802 are the Link, the sprocket, and the stopper. Everything else is exact

I would think that you could quite easily use 0.6mm I/D nozzles even when using a hand syringe. As you say you are only using this for larger devices to prevent them from falling off. I am sure there are very reasonably priced small compressed air un
