I know a company that will provide boxes and pay for shipping but no money for trays. They are Smart Cycle 1-800-580-7364. But if someone knows a company that pays I would also like to know. Thanks James

I heard that Swatch was granted their exemption to use lead solder for anything under 800 microns pitch. Is this true? Can't find a thing on the Web stating that this exemption was granted. Chris

First, your idea of having a safety glass policy is good. The glasses should meet ANSI Z87.1-2003. [Although, ANSI Z87.1-1989 and ANSI Z87.1 are fine for electronic assembly.] Here's a comparison of the 1989 and 2003 standards: http://www.tasco-safet

We'd use a hot air gun like a Leister [800-700-6894 http://www.hotairtools.com/products.htm] hot air soldering tool with a nozzle for your connector. We have no relationship, nor receive benefit from the company referenced above.

Ray, 10x16 should give you .62 area ratio, Theoretical Solder Volume=800. You should increase the width and the length to get better solder release.

We are using an Asscon VP800 with Galden LS230 fluid. This is a batch machine but is working well in our high mix-low volume environment.
