I assume your talking about GSM feeders, and your right, they do cost a small fortune. You would be better off trying to buy used feeders,,at this point they are everywhere and pretty cheap.

In addition to what Dave has said, you shouldn't worry much about having too much (too thick) of Au, as it's a self-limiting process. So Gold embrittlement isn't an issue. Regards, Vlad

Voiding In BGAs

Take a look at your profile. Early on in the development of our leadfree process we saw excessive voids on BGA'S. We tweeked our reflow profile and were able to bring our voids down to about 9% or less. Also found that some paste mfgs. worked better
