Re: Parylene Coating of Plastic Parts

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 04 17:32:52 EDT 1999 | Dave Weihrauch

Has anyone out there tried to parylene coat plastic parts prior to soldering them to a pcb? I'm looking at several potential applications where fewer than 5% of my components on a pcb are plastic, yet from a reliability aspect (environmental cond

We're getting field failures in a high impedance portion of the circuit. Think the unpopulated pc card has contaminates because we were able to grow dendrites by applying a 9 volt battery across the suspected pad, placed a drop of de-ionized water

Hello Netters, I have a customer who wants us to aquaeos wash a PCB after all operations have been performed. The PWB is two layer FR4 with a Transformer, a Multichip Module with Conformal Coating, (6) 11" insulated wires that are

I received a request from customer to assemble ceramic substrate (alumina oxide)that printed with a low temperature Copper thick film conductor (the overglaze layer is polymer). The Copper pads are exposed without any coating. This ceramic substr

Re: handling components for rework

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 26 18:03:45 EDT 1999 | John Thorup

We only do rework with SMT components or a small amount of SMT work. We are having a hard time keeping the components safe throughout the handling process of removing one or two components, and issuing them to an operator for processing or inspect

Ghost circuit shorts under smt resisters only when they are located on solder side of pcb (glued down)

We are having a process related problem with pullup resistors on a controller card which has a I960 micro-processor. The controller monitors signal inputs and it's own resources then blinks a LED to indicate its working. The problem is that after a p

Re: SMD Inspection and Touch-up

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 23 12:38:33 EDT 1999 | Earl Moon

There is a practise within the industry of an Inspector inspecting a board, and that same Inspector performing touch-up. My opinion is that the Inspection and Touch-up operations should be separate functions whereby the Inspector is not performing
