Sn99 Cu0.7 Ag 0.3

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 08 08:28:12 EST 2005 | py (france)

a french subcontractor had tried this alloy for a show (in france). I was here , the PCB was not to hard to weld , but the results were not as good than Sn63pb37.(of course) the advantage is the price. see cookson for details.....

Let's examine some scenarios: What if... ...No solder sample available and you must profile a "live" board (rules out epoxy). ...Lead free build (rules out lead bearing alloys)

platinum clad nickel soldering

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 01 18:41:09 EST 2005 | KEN

Agreed. In my experience you will not wet solder to: Platinum Iron Constantine Tungsten Carbide titanium Chromalloy allomega alloy 303, 304 ...and the list goes on and on. You will either need to weld or braze. These are high temperature prcesses

Leadfree dip soldering

Electronics Forum | Mon May 09 01:30:40 EDT 2005 | Hannu

Hi Pat, And thanks for the sympathy :) This thing with ultrasonic transducer, is it something tried and trusted or is this a new idea for improving the wetting behaviour of leadfree alloys? This is completely new to me, can you please elaborate on

Hi Peter, which should be the best cooling rate once belove TAL by using L-F alloy ie. SAC 305 ? Tnks GS

Poor Solderability on TSOPs with Alloy 42 Leadframes

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 23 00:28:42 EDT 2005 | KEN

....how does the part perform in a wetting test. Is it solderable on a bench or dip-plating in a pot? If you add flux and heat can you fix your problem assemblies? If yes, plating finish or substrate is not your problem. What flux are you using?

Lead-free solder alloy: SN100C from AIM solder

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 08 09:14:49 EDT 2005 | Jason Fullerton

I've tested boards with SN100C HAL finish, and wetting to the PCB finish was poor at best, using a no clean SAC305 paste.

Lead-free solder alloy: SN100C from AIM solder

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 08 10:13:15 EDT 2005 | fctassembly

Hi Jason, Did the SAC paste wet other board finishes adequately? I have seen no issues to date with solderability of SN100CL HASL boards with our No Clean pastes. Regards, Bob

Lead-free solder alloy: SN100C from AIM solder

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 27 09:47:01 EDT 2005 | GCampbell

CEMCO Uk have done testing using SACX0307, SAC305 and Sn/Cu/Ni. The copper dissolution tests (report available) conducted at CEMCO showed that the lowest copper erosion rate was achieved by SACX0307. Regards Gerry
