The is a serious concern of lead contamination of leadfree solder connections. For background, search the fine SMTnet Archives. For instance: http://www.smtnet.com/forums/Index.cfm?CFApp=1&Message_ID=30307

davef is correct. The solder is indeed wicking to the hottest part of the leads. Slowing down the conveyor will alloy the board and component to come to temperature at a lower delta T.

which characteristics? An alloy with similar melting points, wetting, shear force, reliabilities, etc. Indium has an article about 77.2Sn/20.0In/2.8Ag, but was wondering is there any other out there.

Hi, colleagues! We only start using pb-free tehnology Our wave have foam fluxer What kind of flux would be best if we will use Sn100 solderbar What is your experience Best regards Peter

take a look at sn100c, less dross & better wetting than sn/pb alloys.

Yes, we also never experience erosion phenomenon on our solder pot. We are currently using one Sn Cu based alloy, which is SCS7.
