Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 19 07:28:56 EDT 2009 | mhunter

Thank you for your responses Davef and Boardhouse. The material used is Iteq Corporation IT-180. I performed more testing yesterday and found the following: I could insert Berg Pins into the assembly at various locations or a Pem. None of these

Philips Comet L004 Feedback Error

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 06 22:17:13 EDT 2009 | emanuel

Thanks Jeff, I isolated the problem to the DC servo part. The GD3 signal in the safety circuit chain is the one that generates this L004 Feedback Error - which by the way next to it I get also (Wn) where n is changing form 1 to 3 every time I push r

Electrically-Conductive Tapes application advice?

Electronics Forum | Sun Aug 02 19:47:16 EDT 2009 | isd_jwendell

Now that I've seen the pics... Soldering could work just fine. If you are going for large production then you could get copper discs cut and mounted in tape carrier ($$). This would make it very easy for automated equipment to assemble. Mounting a

SN100C Nickel Content

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 04 17:37:43 EDT 2009 | gregoryyork

Im not sure that 0.004% is that critical in a solder alloy. If people are using our alloy and the Nickel increases we would most probably suggest running a dopant alloy without Nickel to bring the levels back down, it is very rare to require dumping

AOI Sony vs Orbitech

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 14 10:51:30 EDT 2009 | rway

Jack, Well, there's always doing it locally on the machine. There's also an old excel macro floating around that will help...it takes the x,y,theta information, and generates a pick and place program. However, we never had much luck with it here

Baking populated PCBs

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 09 09:38:53 EDT 2009 | patrickbruneel

Dave is correct (as usual). Baking the boards might reduce blowholes but will definitely not eliminate the problem. Back in my hay days we had a huge problem with blowholes and we baked boards 24/7 with very little success in reducing blowholes (ev
