I agree with Monkey. We are a CM and profiling is a way to CYA. If we allowed operators to make decisions on when to and when not to you could end up in a bad spot.

We are currently experimenting on an 18 layer 2 oz. copper backplane. The spec is calling for 100% solder joint top to bottom. Any input greatly appreciated.

What kind of packages are we talking about here? If I understand your question, the leads come out of the body and bend downward resting on the board surface
