Some machines can check for polarity while doing vision inspection. Although this will differ from component to component, it is a thought to consider.

Basic rule of thumb for lead free manufacturing: If the joint looks "too good" it probably has lead in it. This, of course is based on comparison observations of other components on your assembly.

Ken you're so right it scares me. If it looks too good its "reject" can't wait to see the definition in the lead-free workmanship standards.
