I wonder if you could push this to exempt any > board with SnPb paste applied to the entire board > as long as it has fine pitch parts? > hmmmmmmmmmmmmm And would TopLine fine pitch comonents count? ;)

I would hope that the committee is at least intelligent enough to insist that exemptions be based on the use of parts w/o coarse pitch equivalents, but we are somewhat evidence challenged in that respect.

Am I missing something, or does this exemption only apply to lead finishes? That's the way it appears in the referenced section, anyway. How does that exempt them from Pb-free processing?

Hi all, does anyone know of any free software (Excel Macro?) that can compare BOMs and show like pairs for reducing setup time from job to job?

I observed some black dot or some oxidation occured on chip termination on pcba reflowed fews weeks ago as buffer stock. The solder joint and fillet wetting is good and shinning. It is an acceptable or defect condition per IPC standard/requirement? W

Greetings, Is there a Mil Spec or IPC spec on how many times you can wave solder a PCB? I did a search on this forum with no results. Common sense says two or three times. I need documentation. Thanks for any info.

Hi PeteB Do you know PeteC? Anyway, it all depends on your most sensitive part. Look up the spec sheets to determine. Most general parts can take 3 or 4 heat cycles easily.
