We know nothing about your process, but Kemet ceramic capacitors can be wave soldered. Kemet wrote papers on wave soldering their parts.

Hi Namruht, One question, what exactly are you wanting to achieve using "feeder calibration? In what way would feeder calibration make these feeders (between Siemens and Universal) compatible? Or maybe i misunderstood your point .....

Is there ever a point in the life span of pick and place equipment when you can expect the machine NOT to be able to produce at a zero defect rate.

I do know that the machines will have the tendencies, but we have some older siemens equipment that is notorious for leaving off components. Getting upper management to understand that the machines aren't as capable as they used to be seems hopeless

The machine is intentionally leaving them off because its feeling an age bias? Or decides to drop them after vision on the way to placement, or...? What's the root cause? Just curious...

Have you tried replacing the LEDs in the illuminator? This is about the only 'wear' mechanism on a vision system, and should be pretty easy to fix.
