PCB washing

Electronics Forum | Fri May 25 13:24:38 EDT 2007 | mfgengr

I had a similar problem a long time ago. I eventually traced the problem to undercured solder resist. The flux was reacting with what was left of the uncured resist, leaving a white residue. We could not even hand scrub this off. The solution was to

Hi Jerry, Sounds like the white stuff is flux. I doubt if 4 pcb mfgers could be undercuring all at once. Good point though. Since you changed washers and now have the problem - it's your new washer. Can you bring back the old one to make sure?

QFP Shifting / Solderability Issue

Electronics Forum | Thu May 31 19:45:47 EDT 2007 | diesel_1t

We place a QFP 256 leads 20 mil pitch, had a lot of troubles with shifted components and solderability issues. solderability is not a problem anymore; we solved with a ramp-to-spike profile with .9C/s 'til 183 then spike to about 118C, TAL ~60s. W

QFP Shifting / Solderability Issue

I almost forgot; If the pcb have HASL (Non RoHS) surface finish, then big fine pitch QFP:s could be shifted during reflow, beacuse of the un-even pad-surface... We have been trough that scenario also... But step No.1 is to make sure that the componen

Software compatibility between MSR and AX-72

Chunks, Nozzle unfriendly? Maybe it should be called nozzle hostile. Depending on the machine and lighting a nozzle with a 1.8mm tube might work. In English units that would be a .072 OD with a .062 ID. The area such a nozzle would pick from is the 6

Rosin vs. Resin Flux

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 01 08:29:41 EDT 2007 | patrickbruneel

OR: Stands for organic (organic acid based flux) with the absence of rosin and/or resin. If you want to know everything about the classification of fluxes get the J-STD-004 Requirements for Soldering Fluxes at following link: http://webvision.ipc

Thanks Patrick, also IPC-HDBK-001 explains even better then IPC-J-STD-004, but unfortunately not yet infos about flux for L-F soldering. That's why I am trying to get some infos more from experienced people. Some L-F (SAC or SACX) cored wires vendor

3D xray

I have heard this question before. My thoughts are: If it is inline and being used to monitor the assembly line as boards are produced it would be process related either engineering or Quality assurance /control. I do not think it would be process

MCS30: how to transfer data from a windows PC ?

Electronics Forum | Sat Jun 02 13:57:30 EDT 2007 | rodrigo

Hi all, We have an MCS30 connected to a CP6 and CP4 smt machines. Every time we need to set up a job, the operator has to type the data at the MCS30 terminal. We already have this data in a Windows PC file. I saw a ethernet and several unused serial
