Tape/Reel Counter

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 19 12:53:35 EDT 2010 | pcbrookie

Hello everyone. I'm looking for some general information on reel counters. We are trying to tighten our inventory counts, and rather than estimate a reel we're looking into getting an accurate count via a reel counter. So first, I'm wondering what

Solder void underneath the mosfet

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 26 00:57:05 EDT 2010 | 89jeong

Hello Sir. We also have faced a same problem. At that time, we had to repair it because we could not find any solution. But in our experience, the void underneath FET was more severe whenever we used the FET that have been made long time ago. It is

Top camera inspection and side camera

Manjunath, I prefer orthogonal systems. In my experience they are actually better at detecting coplanarity and HIP defects than multi camera systems. They are obviously limited, in that they can not inspect a component under another component, b

Unusual solderability issue

Electronics Forum | Sat Apr 17 10:44:21 EDT 2010 | kcorrin

Sounds like you and your board suppliers have done alot of work with this issue trying to solve the problem. When I got into this situation previously, I relied on an outside lab to help me. We didn't have SEM or any testing capability at my shop eit

It could be the flux condensed in the oven. We plan to clean the vent and filter next week. Then we see if help. I just want to see if anybody has same problem in experience. Soldermask supplier told us the same white soldermask always change to a l

I need an Oven

I always fix thermocouples to pcb pads across its width. Then rotate it 180 degrees to check readings. If I am happy that the oven is giving results within a few degrees C then I'll crack on and set up a soldering profile. I am not sure what the oven

SMT transformer misalignment

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 30 07:39:54 EDT 2010 | jdengler

We do a similar part on a Fuji IP3. Set table speed to low. I do not know the QP, but if it's similar to the IP make sure the board clamp/unclamp is smooth. On our IP it got dirty and was jerking causing the board to jump a little which bounced ou

Fine Pitch Printing Issues

Electronics Forum | Thu May 20 16:22:07 EDT 2010 | remullis

I just got word from my board designer that the actual pad size is 11.8 mil and he is reducing the paste layer to 7.8 mil. To me this is way to much of a reduction. I am was accustomed to doing 20% reduction on any thing 20mil pitch or less. The scre

Gloves for conformal coat masking

Electronics Forum | Wed May 19 19:41:12 EDT 2010 | jry74

Our employees use a knit style ESD glove when masking boards to prevent oils. They snag alot and bend leads and cause other problems. I have tried dipped palm but they are bulky and dont offer "feel". I tried a silky type but they had a huge seam
