Competing in the global economy

Electronics Forum | Sat Apr 21 19:24:59 EDT 2007 | Frank

Remember the good old days when we would boycott the Olympics in Russia because they were the "Commy bad guys"? Now that China is hosting, are we going to boycott now? We are too weak to do something like that now. I certainly wish we would. Plus

Solder wave

Electronics Forum | Mon May 07 12:04:59 EDT 2007 | patrickbruneel

Jerry, If youre sure your board has sufficient flux it must be that your slow flowing (single lambda) wave produces more oxides then the flux can handle. Due to the conveyer angle the front of the board usually has less flux then the back of the bo

SMT sockets co-planarity problem

Electronics Forum | Wed May 16 02:18:02 EDT 2007 | Frank

Dave's right, if it has been shown that you are getting questionable parts from the vender, then pre-inspect them before they hit the production floor. If they are fine from the vendor and you are sure they are getting bent during the feeding action

Vacuum Bags

Kevin, As Steve mentioned, you could be running out of memory space - a few things to check: 1. What is the file size and how far does it get when loading the exec back on? Depending on this, you could be out of memory. 2. You may or may not need a

Electronics Forum | Tue May 29 15:10:30 EDT 2007 | realchunks

Hi Jerry, Sounds like the white stuff is flux. I doubt if 4 pcb mfgers could be undercuring all at once. Good point though. Since you changed washers and now have the problem - it's your new washer. Can you bring back the old one to make sure?

Reflow Profile Design

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 18 11:54:35 EDT 2007 | grantp

Hi, The problem seemed to be across multiple batches of boards, so I think they were made correctly, and we don't use a carrier in the reflow oven. However we just moved our equipment to the new factory yesterday, and connect and start turning on
