Hi Syed, I'm a PCB engineer from China. First:Immersion gold surface finish is the best for PCBs. Second:HASL(Lead-Free HASL) Then:HAL(with lead) The cheapest surface finish is OSP(After 15 days will be oxidized)

If the boards were still "wet" after DI wash, your [I assume] low res flux could be reacting with the moisture on the board and causing the white spots. The preheater in the wave could have more dryification than the preheater on the selective solde

Hi Tushar, That is the conclusion that I was coming to before Gary's suggestion. I think a sensor will probably be the best solution but it is good to have options and back-up plans. Thanks everyone
