We do have a slimkic and I will be profiling a board asap. Yes I am looking for a quick answer and I know profiling takes some time. It is just hard to get the M. E. to understand what I want. We just never had a cooldown as part of our profile.

These machines are very different. It falls under "there are no two machines alike" category. When you say the same profile, do you mean the same setpoints, or the same actual board profile that you get from running a profiler with TC's on the boar

Hello, Maybe you can get closer to a solution by posting a profile. Your problem points are right where your photos show them. So, do a profile at the same points. Also, contact your flux provider and request a recommended profile using their flu

BGA rework

Maybe the issue is not a proper rework method. Your shorts on the corners are caused by too fast of a profile causing the corners of the BGA to get too hot, too fast, which made them curl, like tatter chips.

Stick with round aperatures they work fine. If you are successfully processing fine pitch QFP's then switching to BGA's should be no problem. Profiling is a little tricky, a thermal couple should be mounted at the under/ center of the component. cal

I am placing a plastic Cypress, 256 pin BGA on a small assembly, and I cannot stop the corners from bowing. I've moved my profile up and down with no results. Any suggestions?
