We run a "no clean" soldering process, class II primarily, conformal coating using a Humiseal acrylic coating, applied by machine and by brush. We have seen very few coating issues in my 10+ years from contamination by body oils. We are not using glo

Anyone who can help opening this .pcb file and converting it to gerber file?

Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 10 22:48:08 EDT 2017 | dawson

Hi Spoiltforchoice, you are right. I tried to download and setup the PCB Artist as you said. The pcb file is really designed by it, and I opened it, but unfortunately there is no any gerber output option. Maybe this sw is only used to design some sim

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 23 02:25:38 EDT 2017 | directx995

Hello, I have one simple question refere to those who use a bit older Pick and Place machines (like 2005). Do you have a problem with placement on 180 degrees rotated boards on multi-panel? When I say problems, I mean shifted placement on X, Y or Th

Re: preheaters, YMMV, but my limited experience with SS is that without preheat these things have very limited value, even with boards that are not what you would think are thermally challenging. With preheat they seem to be able to do anything you

We put components on the boards we purchase from overseas. So it depends on what you mean by make or manufacture. I realize that I didn't word that the best when I said competition. There are overseas companies that compete for our business but I was

As a PCB hobbyist, when choosing a company to make your board, which aspect attracts you most?

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 06 21:23:40 EST 2017 | wendymm

I just want to gain experience from someone who has their own opinion on my question. It seems that I have paid too much attention to the price now, but ignore other thins like public praise, company strength, customer service and so on.

Reflow oven bottom heaters

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 16 22:01:06 EST 2017 | deanm

That model comes standard without bottom preheaters. Bottom preheaters are an option so I would think it is designed for general use unless you have some very thermally challenging boards. As long as you are within the process window, you'll be fine.

For me it looks like a scheduling issue. You can do time studies on your assemblies and predict the best workload, based on scheduling the jobs in the right sequence. Also it sounds like you have only one operator. Train more people to operate will h
