I am totally agree with Gregp. This is the post when Mr. Clinton still a President and before the market slum. i just want to say because brian mention $$$400K for an SMT line as of the market now. If you spent 400K for just one SMT line at this ti

Hi Mike,I thing the most important question is what's the series of your production? Is necessary to buy a huge line or you need middle or even low class machine? The costs are very different. If we're talking about 1-2 million cmps/month you can get

We are a small start up. We will be buying a stenciling machine and semi automated pick and place. ( We have the oven) We are presently stenciling without any assit and loading leadless parts only(no fine pitch) by hand. We need to improve thrupu

KA, Joshua makes a good point. A wave solder fixture will allow you to process your double-sided boards without having to add the epoxy step. The one time fixed cost of a fixture is quickly offset by the time that you save by not gluing your SMT.

John, I have never seen black pad covering a majority of the board, that would be a scarry thought. I think he is talking about building modules (sims dims) and getting soldering spatering on the gold edge connectors. We went the rounds with that s

In answer to your question no. Fiducials should always be as far apart from each other in both directions (X,Y) as possible. This will allow ANY placement machine to calculate the EXACT location and rotation of the PCB, and therefore correct the moun

Hi Ken Given the small mass of the dot I'm guessing that the adhesive is being flash cured by the heat of the board and the resulting semi-solid is unable to release from the nozzle like a liquid thereby causing your strings. Placing components on c

Hello Vahid The most accurate fiducial for you depends somewhat on your board characteristics like contrast, spacing, inner layer features and obstructions. The more important consideration is what does the particular machine like best? The manufac

Correct me if i am mistaken, I always hear the circle is better fid mark than any. Due to shape and dimension, one value of diameter is needed while square you need width and lenght. beside whichever fid mark, the accuracy will base on cad and techn

Glen: Thanks for the clarification. I agree with Wolfgang that fluxer setup could be the source of the problem. Bottom-side wave solder shorting has a fairly wide range of potental causes. For instance slow conveyor speed can produce the same con
