easiest way is to weigh an empty board and then weigh a printed board, best to do 10 or so and take an average.

That could lead to oxidation of the leads and > worsen solderability. It's much better to make > sure the components are handled properly and not > exposed to moisture. > > The reason for baking is > moisture in the body not in the leads. > > W

problem in solderability

I've seen where a new person comes on with some strange problem. Then someone else new comes on and says that the perfect solution is siplace boards. And for a while it seemed like Siplace boards were the solution to every problem. Or maybe they we

Electro-mechanical assembly specification?

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 26 13:28:50 EDT 2008 | qaman

I am new to the board so be gentle with me. There are standards such as IPC-610 for PCB assembly, IPC-600 for bare boards, etc. Is there a "standard" for electro-mechanical assembly? Is there an IPC standard or any other industry approved standard

We use immersion tin boards and ENIG with Sn63Pb37 with no problems. We did have to tweak the profile higher with ImmSn though.

no clean flux + wave soldering issue

Tell the board shop to increase the cure temp of the resist as it is undecured especially if you have waxy/greasy resiues on the board and a brown tar like substence in the solder wave itself. If undercured then solder will not flow off the resist pr

Less solder with fine pitch qfp

Let's narrow this down. Questions are: * Are you putting the proper amount of solder in the board with your stencil print process? * If you are putting the proper amount of solder in the board, where is the solder going? Pick one and then fill-in th

We built tens of thousands of boards with transeivers on them with a no clean process.Never had any problems with the flux residue in relationship to board performance.
