Components Misalignment/shifted (One pad away)

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 24 02:47:25 EDT 2006 | emeto

Hi CKH, If the problem is on the current board type only, the problem is in the fiducials or in the CAD data. If the problem remains on all boards(different product) it is definetly a machine calibration problem. Did you try to reteach the board one

Water Testing

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 26 13:36:35 EDT 2006 | slthomas

I'm sure your local municipality's water quality department could hook you up with a lab to test your water for all sorts of things, but you might just open up a whole new can of worms in the process. Trouble is, testing your wash or rinse water doe

Autosplice CC-112 inserter software spec

Hi All, Wondering if anyone is using this Autosplice CC-112 Pin inserter. We have one here and I am wondering if there is offline software or a serial communication spec that is used to load programs in from a PC. We can make changes on the unit i

Blistering issue, mixed LF/SnPb process

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 28 09:20:10 EDT 2006 | pavel_murtishev

Good afternoon, No, defects arent trace related. Ive just posted reflow profile (reply to Chunks). I suspect the component only. All other components are fine. But I cant understand what exactly happens with this component. I tried to play with s

Blistering issue, mixed LF/SnPb process

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 28 11:01:45 EDT 2006 | rlackey

No, you can easily find out if it's a part issue - put down another component with the same footprint(either a chip cap or a different value resistor - like the one in the picture)on the pads where you are having problems and relow as normal. If it

Blistering issue, mixed LF/SnPb process

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 28 16:36:37 EDT 2006 | chrisgriffin

Thats a great idea Doc. If we all listened to your suggestions, there would be zero defects in PCB manufacturing. I bet your using Bahodum solder which, I'm sure, is incapable of defects. Pavel, sounds like you can rule out reflow as the problem.

Hi Steve, Yeah outta my control, till NPI tosses it over the wall. Yes, everything was kept the same but we did go to a new stencil house. I'll try an ego busting move and ask if we can order a stencil from were we normally do if/when we respin

Be careful and review the MSDS sheets on any dross inhibitor reducer etc. Most are extremely hazardous. We offer a product that is not hazardous it melts at pot temp. forms an oily substrate, removes the good solder from the dross. Also can be used a

Dross Eliminator

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 08 09:52:13 EDT 2006 | aj

I would be interested to see what Dross eliminators are available also. I am currently trialing a very user friendly Solder Saver Handtool- it basically churns the Dross Solder until the dross is left in Powder form. We then scoop out the powder. e
