PLCC LEADS not solder in SAC305 paste

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 27 21:53:54 EDT 2012 | davef

Questions are: * When you rework these pads, can you get solder to flow on the pads with a soldering iron? * When you profile the board during reflow, what is the temperature on these pads as compared with other similar pads in the vicinity?

Possible to temporarily store mounted but not soldered PCB's?

No arument with others comments about moisture, but taking a different tact, consider that the volitle elements of the solder paste disppear as a function of the amount of time the paste is out of the container. [Maybe as a function of solder paste

From what you are saying................If I hear ya correctly - There is no "Proctective" on the Pads (OSP, HASL....) You will be hard pressed soldering to bare copper. This can not be right. My suggestion- go polyimide with electroptical connecti

I recieved a pack of sensitive IC's that said they needed to be baked befor certain processes. If I need to do rework, do I have to bake prior to single soldering of these IC's. Or can I just place one as needed by hand with out baking? Any info woul

I have always thought it to be a good practice to wash SMA's with water soluble paste (WS609) soon after reflow. Is there a time limit as to how long a board should sit after reflow before washing said board? For instance; processing a double-

RF board not soldered

The problem that I see is the pads not soldered and I can see on the X-Ray the solder on the pad after reflow, and yes the solder has melted in a uniform fashion, I have not measured the diference of temperatures in each pad of the PCB, the size is a
