Placement Force

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 08 15:50:49 EST 2013 | emeto

We usually run QFNs with 2N placement force. However for some parts we will modify the placement to higher value to make sure they stick to the paste good.

Placement Force

Hi, in my case 2N is the minimal force I can use, so I will use it for most of the QFN we place.

I need suggestions on which low-medium volume pick and place capable of running 0201 / 01005 components I should buy.

Try Manncorp and APS. I'm not sure that either one will meet your 01005 requirement. BR, davef

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 11 10:00:20 EST 2013 | bobpan

When they made those feeders....there were no 0402 parts. If you are trying to place 0402 parts....buy new feeders made for them.

I dont know where you got your feeders at. I have worked on alot of quad feeders and i have never had one that wasnt repeatable enough for 0805 or 1206 parts.

I have disassembled and cleaned the most of the feeders indeed. This gave me some improvement on some units. Thanks for the data, sir.

I'd like some recommendations on the type / size of quad fiducials to use. I started with a small + on the silkscreen layer, but i think that a via is better, and have been using it. Now i'm considering a round smd pad, but not sure the size. Any

Tankless ... Nice Idea But I Wonder Too

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 14 11:30:04 EST 2013 | davef

Yeh, I love the idea of tankless, but ... Tell ya what, when I'm at IPC APEX next week, I'll poke around on using tankless in a mid-to-low volume plant. BR, davef

Board wash/water heater

Hi robgd3, your DI system installer is right in his recommendation for a tankless/on-demand system. You know what? We are in the same situation six months ago and all my concerns were met when I installed this tankless water heater.
