I don't think I would reduce the heat at all if there is no vibration in your oven or on the chain you should have no problem with them falling off or moving but you sure don't want a cold solder joint you no the solder joints are so easy to see go

We expect to find recommendations on periodic maintenance from the equipment fabricator in the operating manual. Those recommendations should be the basis for you to setup your maintenance program.

Have an older reflow oven which I need to clean up collected flux residues from the chain, mesh, intake/exhaust areas, slides etc heavy brown dust, likely water soluble residues, lots of polymerized brown resin as well.

You have to keep the oil containers for the chains loaded with oil. The procedure is automatic and you will run it based on your usage. Other than that our 10zone Pyramax is running for 5years without any failure.

We have recently had a jig get caught in the chain of the flowsolder machine, causing the board to delaminate, is there any hard and fast rules as to if the area needs evacuating due to fumes, and if the air quality has to be checked before allowing

Where are you from? In Europe you can get Lubcon oils from AdoptSMT for example or ask the local distributor at Avia for 9560.

Auto chain oiling is a must have feature in my opinion. You can't have too many heating zones! More zones allows more finesse in your profiles.
