Try changing blades. If still a problem, move job to another printer and cross feed to your existing line. If all else fails, try buying a new stencil. You could get new by Monday.

solder paste [ top side ] Actually it's kinda the norm in most places. Subjects your active components to one less heat cycle.

Patrick, not to change the subject, but where would you suggest I go for a comprehensive report with some valid data references on the environmental impact of lead free vs. leaded solder use in electronics?

What is the part designator? A lot has to do with that. Also, is this a double sided reflow board. Perhaps you need to change your process to accept two heat cycles simultaneously. Solder thieves should work. Check the archives.

Change pastes, although insufficient heating may leave excessive residues. Is this on one board or all products? No Clean or water soluble? Do you profile accurately or "guesstimate" your settings?

CircuitCAM [ http://www.aiscorp.com ] will probably do what you want. Amoung things, it works great for push lines, where we change the setup depending on the skills of the operators on hand.

We had that problem when our stencil supplier changed epoxies to a more environmentally friendly chemistry. Reducing the temp. in the cleaner solved the problem.
