This is my first post. I just graduated from college and entered the circuit board industry, but I am not familiar with this industry at all. I studied public utility management in college, I hope someone can give me some advice.

As stated above, be more specific. What position are you working and for what type of business? PCB fabrication? Component manufacturer? OEM or CM circuit board assembly?

I have not. I did watch an online webinar but of course it showed all the extra stuff that I have no use for. So I pretty much lost interest.

We are at the mercy of our Customers. Some give us ODB+ files, some just gerbers, and some we still get 'D' Gerbers from.

For gerbers there is Visualplace which interfaces to PCBSynergy. Ask them for a CAD PCB file with tracks removed if they are worried about their IP going missing. sarason

The PCB needs to have a flat finish to the pads too - HASL finished boards don't work well with fine pitched ICs/QFNs etc

Also solder paste type, optimized printer parameters suitable for this paste, correct apertures design on the stencil, stencil thickness, proper AAR, mounting accuracy and placement profile, oven profile, board thickness and a few other.
