Thanks for everything, it ended up being worn out brushs in the cut and clich motors. A little clean up and some elbow grease and its all ok. Thanks again, Paul

Water wash cleaning with a deionized water rise is used for bare boards and assemblies [and probably components also, but we're not sure]. Look here for the basics: http://www.circuitree.com/CDA/ArticleInformation/features/BNP__Features__Item/0,2133

Tony First, drying at 125*C for an hour is not going to do much drying. Heck, those boards are barely warm to the touch. Second, tell us about: * Pitch of your uBGA * Solder paste flux * Cleaning process and agents

in a thread titled ".5mm bga" there is a reference to a paste by alpha that is no-clean and is supposed to be made specifically for this situation. I suppose that increasing the pad dimension to .012" is out of the question? Russ

Sounds reasonable. If there was NC flux "crud" on the balls, the vision processors of our P&P would have detection issues.

I apologise for the bad info, I read off the wrong column. We use Zestron SD300 in the stencil washer, we use Zestron ED200 in other hand wash applications. Sorry for the confusion.

Use solid solder deposit for GGA's and you will not have shorts, opens, voids or need cleaning. Simple as that. mkehoe@sipad.net www.sipad.net
