Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 19 16:03:39 EDT 2010 | warwolf

Agreed, on some components we have seen a "brownish tint" after reflow it doesn’t happen on all of our resistors it only appears to be on the leads, and have also seen the purpleish tint on some other 2512 components

Solderability Issues

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 23 02:17:26 EDT 2010 | joseph_smile

by viewing your posting i came to know this is solder ability issue which is because of marginable solder ability of PCB / components, just ensure that issue due to PCB or component . check the msl of of substrate / component. verify the baking r

vertically mounted PTH components

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 11 14:45:46 EDT 2010 | davef

Yes, it OK to mount axial PTH component as radial PTH, if that's what you're asking. * There are no rules for orientation. Pick something and stick to it. We like to be able to read the component value / orientation from the top towards the board.

Please describe the problem in a bit more detail like what is the size of the components in both the charges? It is possible that the size is a limitation here. What nozzles are used for all the 8 components in the component information?

Where to source SMD bulk cassettes?

Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 07 22:49:24 EST 2012 | davef

Bulk cassettes are not readily available because they're purchased by component suppliers, provided to their customers full of fly shit and when empty they're returned to the component supplier for refill. Try Topline or your bulk component supplier

Measuring Maximum Lead Temperature

Electronics Forum | Sun Dec 08 09:59:39 EST 2013 | davef

Component fabricator is concerned about the temperature of the lead at the point where the lead enters the component body. So, if you sink temperature at that point, you will assure a lower chance of damaging the component.

Components near breakouts

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 01 17:43:35 EST 2015 | barryg

Hi all, I was wondering if there are guidelines for how near components are to breakouts, and orientation of components near breakouts? Does IPC or other address this? We are sometimes approached with some crazy PCB layouts with multiple PCB's per ar
