Hello everyone, after a short layoff I am glad to be back. I have a question. I have a button (snap button) that is being soldered to a strip of sac coated copper. We are questioning the joint strength of this from our vendor as we see these popping

I am having a problem with some joints on a 100 pin pqfp and few different soics on one particular board. When viewed a 8x with a "Mantis" inspection scope the joints look as though they wetted to the ic leg but when probed the leg will pop loose.

I have a connector which has very weak joints. Solder fractures easily. On inspection the solder is very grainy and full of voids. Process is 63/37 no clean. Any thoughts? Phil

Hello What feeder do you use for the long connector (65-80mm) - tape feeder, tray? What nozzles? We want to mount a SODIMM200 socket. I don't know whether to look on the tape or on the trays... The MG1 spec says it will mount connectors up to 100mm (

I already see that most of these connectors are on trays - I just don't know if they are suitable for the machine. And I don't know what nozzles Yamaha/Assembleon/Philips use.

As far as I can remember, these always arrived in flexible plastic trays. The trays we designed were made of Durastone. The parts were then transferred at a tape & reel facility from tray to tray every 1000x connectors. If these are high volume for

I have a problem on fine pitch SMT connector reflow. The board size is 18" x 12" with 8 layers FR4 material and emersion gold finishing. All the other components include 0603 on the board are reflow very well, except 20 mil pitch SMT connectors. The

All of the above is good stuff. To add, I have seen this several times if the assembly is wavesoldered. Heat from the wave can partially reflow the top side SM solder joints and weaken them. To test, check joint strength before wave and then after

We have been producing an IMS assembly with SMT dpak's for some time. However, we recently encountered a new problem by chance - the parts can be flicked off with a finger nail. I state by chance because the solder joints are wetted and shiny with
