Try this: * Run the board through your reflow oven set for a "normal" recipe, but with the cooling section turned off. * Pick the BGA from the board while the solder is still liquid using tweezers [or similar tool].

I need some advice on how to run a test with some large boards through the re-flow oven. The boards are 17"x17", 3/16" thick. Withought destroying one of the boards, how would I go about getting a good temperature profile?

Hi Recently i have noticed that after reflow (hot air oven) on the solder lands without components but with solder(screen printing) there is discoloration. It looks like gasolin spilled on the wet road (rainbow). Any idea and reason Ralf

Who remembers the Heller 942C reflow oven? We have one, but I cannot locate the manual or computer program, and the ones that ran it have now retired. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks, Jim

Contax are not always the most responsive of companies in the UK. Besides, you get a lot more for your money with BTU Pyramax's or Vitronics Soltec and very good service.

Are there any methods for mounting ball grid arrays without a reflow oven? More and more chips are coming in the format and as a student I am not interested in production line quantities.
