Can anyone give me any information on the longivity of titanium insert wave pallets. What I am looking for is the integrity of thin walls over several hundred cycles and the interface between the insert and the durostone material.

I have to make a few fixtures using durostone Material. I would like to know what end would be best to use for milling pockets out. I tried using HSS 1/4 in all I did was burn it up. Also I tried to use a 1/4 " carbide end and burnt that up too. any

The only material I've ever heard of for these applications is the one that you have already rejected (Durostone). There is a similar material called Durapol, and if memory serves me correctly it is somewhat cheaper than Durostone.

In a time crunch, kapton tape works great. If you are using durostone or some material like that for carriers, make sure it is clean right after you machine it and the kapton will stick very well. We are low volume so we pretty much always use tape
