I am new to the board so be gentle with me. There are standards such as IPC-610 for PCB assembly, IPC-600 for bare boards, etc. Is there a "standard" for electro-mechanical assembly? Is there an IPC standard or any other industry approved standard

I am looking for a software package that can provide me with a ballpark estimate of labor time required to assemble electro-mechanical products. The inputs that I imagine would include number and size of fasteners, number of wire connections, number

I personally would not get involved with any technology as old as the Q4C. I worked in a factory that had about 20 of those and was not impressed. It seemed like there was always some problem (electro/mechanical) and their service was not "world cl

We have an Electromechanical assembly (clock) that has a step motor on the board. This electromechanical assembly is assembled in a screw less plastic moulded casing. The plastic casing is neither air tight nor water proof. The board is with SMOBC+ H

Certainly automatic placement, preferably with vision system assistance will yield a more repeatable process. Process repeatability (paste deposition, connector placement, reflow cycle, etc.) will be your key to success here. Another possibility yo

If I understand your question: I've done this before by creating a spreadsheet in Excel. All the data you're looking for can be built into said spreadsheet. I don't think you'll find a "canned" package with the values without buying a bigg-ass prgram

Quality, consistency and labor savings all wrapped up into one nicely packaged piece of electro-mechanical marvel called AOI. Look for the number of templates one can store per component, lighting options, can it do through hole? Look at reporting

Harry, thanks for your comments. Certainly circuit diagrams where appropriate and mechanical schematics of complex parts like the head would be useful to the end user. We are working hard to eliminate relays and switches from the unit, and things
