Dave, I dont know if you run SMD solderside through your wave, but if you do, consider that most SMD is specified to 260 degrees. 280 would be way over.

and also that most connector/PTH component vendors test their components with immersion temperatures of around 260 degc & they do not preheat the components, so it does not mimic the heat in a typical wave soldering operation

No Disadvantages The reason they are used is they cool the boards at 2deg/p/sec leadfree spec for N2.Remmember the chinese have been building LF for years and are more advanced that Europpe nad America and most of the equipment is backed by Japanese
