Well, 60K sounds a little more like it. Yes, it was the 200 I had been sent literature on, but I did kind of figure that the salesman would throw the highest priced equipment at me first, like it was still 1998 and money didn't really mean much. I'll

I am personally in RI, but my HQ is in San Jose, CA. I can get you more information on the machine(s) and configuration you have though, if you are interested. We are also one of the few Used Equipment guys that will sell on terms and stand behind

We have a current problem on our packages after we bake it for 24 hrs prior BGA rework. Flux or white residues found on the connector leads and terminals that cause not contact problems during mating. Could you help us how to clean the fluxes properl

So, after the repair of a BGA, you notice white reside on a nearby connector. Correct? [Sorry we're so dense. Long day.] Tell us about: * Flux class used in repair * Flux class used in original assembly Why are you baking the assembly after repair

thanks for your reply, actually we bake the PCB assembly prior the rework because the package was exposed for quite some time already. The baking time was 24hrs @ 125 deg.C. We notice that there were flux residues on the connectors after the baking.

We've always used flux in reworking BGA, except with some dodgy designs, when we use paste. We see no reason to switch to paste. We do not understand your coworker's concerns, nor do we understand the impact of using paste because of the higher mel

I'm reworking lead free BGAs now, on a Conceptronics Freedom 3000. I use flux only (no-clean, Indium) all the time, with no issues. If you go to paste, you also understand that you still have to hit the same temperatures as with flux, as the solder i

I have some problems in sufficient preheating the pcb's. They splatter on the mainwave, causing solderballing. Less flux causes problems with the fill of the through- holes. We use a Delta Wave with 3 preheat zones, the first two are calrods the thi

Are your preheaters maxed out then? What is conveyor speed? anyway I would not have issue with that configuration at all. I have actually found that when using convection for some watersolubles you actually dry out flux and performance is worse.

In my other, better equipped life, we'd wipe them down manually w/dilute IPA then run them through the inline cleaner, nc or ws. I'd avoid US unless you've qualified your process to verify you're not damaging parts with it.
