Flex embedded into FR4

Electronics Forum | Wed May 28 12:31:18 EDT 2003 | larryk

This is our first experience with running embedded flexs. Our board supplier suggested that we prebake our assemblies before placing components. What does everyone else do? Is prebaking normal when a flex is embedded?

I'm hoping to use 0201 caps and resistors in a new design but so far have only found one company who makes such small devices (Murato). Can anyone direct me to any other supplier? Are there any particular problems associated with using s

Multilevel PWBs?

They call these embedded components... I've heard of them and read about them, but I haven't seen any yet. Here is a short article about embedded components in a PCB: http://tinyurl.com/2j6bd8

Multilevel PWBs?

Yes, embedded components. They can build decoupling capacitors and terminating resistors into layers of the PC board, and print them very much like copper layers. Jon

Why can my bare PCB be magnetized?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 31 02:56:53 EST 2018 | robl

Hi Fluxgate, Doubt it's the laminate unless you have embedded components. Nickel is ferromagnetic (can be magnetised),so I would expect some level of magnetism in ENIG, but not silver. Are you 100% sure it was immersion silver and not something

Manufacturing breakthroughs?

I think Equipment wise things have changed little. Xray and Endo scopes have seen usefulness with in industry and if you want to add Laser soldering...Well that is some of the new Capital Equipment. Some areas that will grow over the course of some

Looking for Filled via -- Embedded within pad - criteria

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 02 15:51:15 EDT 2004 | cburress

All: IPC does not directly state any criteria for physical characteristics of what a filled via should look like when embedded within a surface mount component's pad. I am using several of these in my design, and have received PCBs that exhibi

Small board washer needed

The best method of cleaning misprinted boards is with a stencil cleaner. I would not recommend the use of a spray-in-air system for misprints. Spray systems can cause solder paste to become embedded into vias and under components (if double sided).

Low volume prototyping

Dear all, I am one of the founders of a small company doing electronics design + embedded software. Currently our prototypes are using increasingly complex smd components. When we started we mostly used atmel cpus, but now we are starting to use fpg
