Have alot of exp. on both mydata and philips/assembleon. My preference would be the assembleon. Maintenance is light and they run forever. New software on assembleon is excellant. Customer support is one of the best i have delt with. mrmaint

This is an excellent topic. We are currently regarding for a reflow oven. BTU seem to be good. I don't know the other companies. Why BTU and Vitronics seems to be the goodest? And about HELLER, any good/bad comments?

We use all three depending on application (flux type, size, etc). I think they all have excellent pastes, but it just depends specifically on how you are using them. I've gotta say it's hard to find bad things to say about Indium though.

Dave, Excellent information thank you. What I cant seem to establish is how other manufacturers have found the FLASH gold in terms of reliability especially considering that the flash process is more difficult to control.

We are using the Kester 979 with excellent results; the bonus is that it can be cleaned w/Di water.

We are using our SPM to .012" pitch with excellent results. It has the manual vision. (two cameras with user defined outlines used with mylar alignment) EDIT - I meant 16mil pitch, not 12!

I'd be curious if a microwave would activate the flux. I'd also suspect that the metal content of solder might just give you that excellent "microwave+fork" effect. I can see this R+D failing miserably. -Russ
