I'm having problems feeding these to the pick and place. As the tape peels off the pocket the part sticks to the tape rather than remaining in the pocket. Machine is QUAD QSV. We've tried all generations of feeders we have available. Any advice is

Sounds like too much adhesive on the tape or static electricity. Try grounding the feeder if you think its not adhesive/tape related.

Cover tape tearing

Hi Rob, I would be asking the customers about that. I've read somewhere that teflon is used on feeders, is this a standard and does the absence or presence of this contribute to tape tearing? Thanks, LIza

Dual lane 8mm prec. pro feeders are capable of being set for 2mm or 4mm index, correct?

PWH FYI...All current cart shipments are 13" reel compatible. A few single lane 8mm feeders is not a bad thing to have along with the 7" DL, as they can handle both. T.Vick UIC

I dont really care about res. and caps. as much as I do ICs. Most of the parts fall out from feeder problems or Vib settings.

Thanks for your response PWH. These are the exact same issues we have been having. I did call UIC about that feeder jig. It cost about 12k USD. Do you guys use it? Is it worth the money?

Jobbie, We are also not using the Mydata forks for the vibe feeders. We take a tube for the vibe component and cut a pick pocket. We use the back of the forks as stops. This has eliminated many of the pick problems from the vibes. Good Luck Chris
