Does anyone have an idea of what a good placement rate (pph) is for a low volume, high mix smt line? We do small lots (10-300pcs), with a feeder count that ranges from 28 to 130 per setup. We have low volume machines (an old (real old) Siemens HS-180

(fishing).. | Has Sanyo developed a bulk feeder for 201's and do you feel that bulk feeding will be the next big move in placement equipment? | In New England people are talking bulk feeding, but few people have elected to go that way. | As wit

You will have to forget about the idea of finding ONE algorithm to optimize SMT placement. For pick and place, collect and place, turret type "chip shooters" with moving feeder cartridge and moving board you will each have to find your own algorithm

Are you using extra feeder tables that you can setup off line and than just exchange for the ones you had in the machines for the previous batch? This way the Siplace should not be too bad. Otherwise for fast change and low volume you might look at m

| I would like to know something about Siemens machines from users of Siplace or old machines. | Thanks ! I have used the Siemens MS-102 for the past 5 years. We have over 30,000,000 placements on the machine and we have approximately 3% down t

| I would like to hear from anyone producing high mix (~200 modules) with low volumes (5-2000 per year) using an automatic line running lot sizes in the 5-50 range. We are engaged in an investigation to invest in this capability. A view into the or

What kind/brand of machine are we talking about? Are the missing parts randomly distributed or are specific to a feeder/placement/pattern? Does your machine remember where to resume placement if you reset it in the middle of a pattern placement? We h
