Is it true that "square" fiducials cause less error than round fiducials? Also, how does Panasonic machines stack up against Fuji, Siemens, or Philips placement machines? Thank you.

In past PCB designs I have cleared all traces from all layers (except pwr/gnd) from fiducial area. It has come to my attention that this is only necessary on the side where fud is placed. Which is the correct method of design using a fidicial?

Circuit and Local Fiducials are all the same. The difference is the amount of "Stretch and Skew" that is accounted for. Local fiducials apply "Stretch and Skew" to a single placement or area of the circuit, depending on Equipment used. Circuit fiduci

In csae you use 2 fiducial recognition, ensure that board fiducials are oriented across a diagonal and spaced far apart. Also, maintain a prefered dia between 1-2 mm for the fiducial on board to have have a better correction factor recorded during fi

I am not sure but I thought the black fiducial is used for X-out board/panel.

Hi everyone, here a question for the SMT production engineers... is possible today mount the fine pitch and ultrafine pitch devices (BGA, QFP, CSP), without using the local fiducials, but using the three standard fiducials of row card only? The corre

XPS, Hope the information in the above thread may help to get You right. BTW, Local Fiducial Marks are meant for specific devices in the Circuit Cards & typically selected to overcome offset or precision placement issues faced from Global Fiducial

Fiducial recognition is based on finding the centroid of the gray scale density of the fiducial. Round fiducials are easier for the software to digest in most cases, but its more important what the camera sees. Gray scale or color contrast of the fi
