A near eutechtic alloy [ie, 63/37, 62/36/2, etc] would be fine. People print, place, and reflow millions of cermaic capacitors with these alloys every day.

Im also having this problem with Panasonic film capacitor. Even when I have the correct pad size according to Panasonic data sheet the tombstoning occur. I am thinking that the problem could be the plating of the film capacitor. The only way I could

We are having some problems with "drawbridging" on 0805 film capacitors. We have already reduced the pad width from .050" to .040" based on input from vendor. Defects appear to be random as far as location on the PWB and direction of placement. We

Hi, I have a bad experience whenever assembling the PCBA that using SMD film capacitor as I encountered a lot of non wetting and tombstone. I did experiment on my reflow profile and stencil design and the result was improved but not totally solved.

I have in the past had lots of problems with soldering film caps (same problems as you), but that was mostly before the manufacturer redesigned them. Profiles and changes in paste netted some improvements but it really took changes at their end to re

Soldering electronic components like electrolytic capacitors can be some of the most difficult terms in PCB repair. Electrolytic capacitors, like other components, come in two main formats. 1. Through-hole capacitors have long leads designed to pass
