Fine Pitch

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 30 17:00:59 EST 2000 | Charles Morehouse

I am interested to know what people prefer for fine pitch packaging. Tape/Reel or Waffle tray for .031", .025", .020", .015" pitch components? What is the most robust packaging (i.e. fewer bent leads, etc.) Chuck

Fine-Pitch Applications

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 19 11:48:32 EST 2001 | martys

We are looking at some applications that will require fine-pitch and possibly ultra fine-pitch. I am currently using a spray type batch cleaner for cleaning our stencils. Will this be adequate for fine-pitch (15 20 mil pitch) applications?

Fine Pitch Printing Issues

Electronics Forum | Thu May 20 16:30:50 EDT 2010 | mikesewell

I believe industry standard is 1/2 pitch for fine pitch devices. If your part is 20 mil pitch, apts would be 10 mil wide. This should gasket fine to the pcb pad and with a 5 mil stencil should print well.

Fine Pitch Components

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 21 23:39:21 EDT 2000 | NICK_SWARTZ

Is there a chart available to use in identifying the pitch of fine pitch components - one with which a components leads could be matched ( similar to that of the component's "footprint" on the pcb ) ?

Fine Pitch Wave Soldering

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 08 19:37:17 EST 2011 | Jacki

Hi We did some evaluation to solder 0.4mm pitch by Wave. We found that there were many solder shorts at Sockets pins so it made touch up time longer. Please advise me someone has achieved the fine pitch soldering by wave. Thanks in advance.

Baking Fine Pitch Components

Fine pitch parts are not the issue. Platic parts that absorb moisture are the issue. Search the fine SMTnet Archives to get started. Try: * MSD * Moisture sentive device * Dessicant cabinets * Baking times * 033 * 020 * etc

Fine pitch with DEK 260

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 20 11:19:47 EDT 1999 | John

Does anyone have an older DEK 260? I was wondering if a 1995 model 260 with DeKAlign 2 is capable of printing 12 mil fine pitch reliably. (Assuming that it is in good working order) Thanks for any input!!

Coplanarity on fine pitch QFP

Electronics Forum | Mon Sep 25 16:14:16 EDT 2000 | LarryK

What do you all do to fix coplanarity on fine pitch QFPs? I know that the best thing would be to send them back to the vender, but what about the when you gotta use them? Straightening by hand seems to be so time comsuming. Any better ways? Larry
