waste of time - get your materials manager to work on the smt floor for a week and see how ridiculous this approach is! saving pennies while adding time between setups, looking for parts and as you said issues with pickup etc....

If you move to the spray bottle, be sure to label it so there is no mistake as to the contents, you wouldn't want unlableled materials on the production floor, for a couple of reasons...

In general, I've always considered solder paste a part of the overhead costs, along with wire solder, and other consumables utilized on the shop floor. It's a part of the cost of the assembly, but, I don't calculate it directly as a part of quotin

I agree with Dave. Much better to store as he suggested then to store them in piles on the floor. Ha! Piles of boards... never ceases to be funny.... :-p Funny though...my customers don't seem to find it as funny as I do. I wonder why....

John, I assume you mean 60%, not 65%. J-STD-033 has a derating table for floor life which accounts for conditions other than 30C/60% RH. Table 7-1 is what you're looking for I believe. Adam

Thanks FCM, we remove the metal plate and make a new ferro-concrete base.Under foot put ESD rubber.Now machine working perfect - without any vibration. Thank you very much and success.

We use Access database. Works well but you have to custom build everything you want to track as it's not specifically designed for electronics mfg. You need someone in house who's good with that stuff.

To add to what Rob has said, Have you considered an ESD safe environment? Floors, Racks, tables, etc.... Also the humidity level of your area incase you use MSD parts? Just a thought.
