Yes, RR0013 was well done, but it did not consider low-res fluxes.

What does 5 micrograms of chloride mean to me? * With SIR testing, you can show no detrimental leakage currents under humid conditions, no corrosion, no metal migration, which are the big factors in figuring out electrochemical reliability. People

Amtech 4300 no-clean+washable flux

Electronics Forum | Sun Dec 11 22:39:36 EST 2016 | ppcbs

We have been using the Amtech line for over 12 years now with all of our PCB and BGA Rework. The NWS-4400 is mildly active and will give better results with Lead Free Solder. Note that the LF-4300 is considered a No-Clean. However it will show lea

If No-Clean flux does not need to be cleaned, then why do I get readings of up to 27(ug NaCl/sq in) on boards that are not washed, up to 23.4(ug NaCl/sq in) on boards washed with DI water only and from 1.2 to 10.1(ug NaCl/sq in) on boards washed with

Re: Where can I purchase a PCB with a bare copper grid for solder flux evaluations.

| I have looked through the IPC web page and surfed to frustration. Can somebody give me a lead? | Check out the EasyBraid website below, they carry IPC standard coupons, flux test kits and SIR meters at reasonable prices.

Jim, you may need to look with different paste instead of the cleaning solvent. Please advise what is the paste which you currently using? Beside, when you talking about the board stayed in hot area, is it a drying area or the cleaning zone. If it

Lead Free and ICT

I agree! I am using a SAC305 no clean from Alpha. I have noticed that even hand probing with volt meter leads requires me to press very hard on the pads to bust through the flux residue.

No-Clean Wave Solder Process Control

A simple flux-o-meter test is a great tool to help prevent the issues you mention. A quick and effective method. If you require any further information please contact me offline.

Corrosion

If the flux is already eating thru Cu it must have been some time since the boards were soldered with the OA flux. Ionic contamination testing (with OmegaMeter or IonoGraph)can be done to find contaminated boards and cleaning the boards can be done

Cleaner device for PCB

Electronics Forum | Sun Feb 01 18:24:52 EST 2004 | Dean

Ok, maybe I'm missing something here: It's a no clean flux type AND your going to wash it? Why not migrate to OA Flux and just run DI water with Ion-Exchange beds? Benefits: No need for ultrasonics No need for chemical isolation No need for cleani
