Microwave? Try some steel wool next time. Are you cookin food in that microwave? I would love to see that documented into a process. You could look at changing the solder paste you use. Knead it up other than that mate.

Been loading lead free (steel, bismuth) for a couple of yrs. now. Our Wildlife division went ROHS on the waterfowl hunting some time ago. So now we just wound geese and ducks and let them die somewhere that they are of no use except coyote food!

H.W. At a lead-free seminar I took last year, the PhD lecturer, who is known to be a huge proponent of Bismuth, said the same thing. It is absolutely non-toxic and is used in foods, makeup, etc.
