We are experiencing the same problem. We just spent $1,200 to figure out that the "black stuff" is a Nickel Oxide. I am going to look into the profile end of this problem. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Dave

Can anyone direct me to a proper footprint for an s-mini 2 pin diode. I can not find one in the manufactureres data sheet and this part is not in the IPC book. Anyone know where I can find it.

What's the bad rap on IR? I know that ERSA has a dark IR that they say heats evenly. I worry about the entire location being heated though.
