Can anyone tell why soldering of paste in reflow machine called as reflow process. Is there any reason or just nomenclature is made.

That one is too obvious. Also shows a twinge of irritation. Somewhat too serious. I like my creative answer better. But in the end does it really matter? I just call it "cooked." We cook boards. 'Nuff said.

Check the cables first, they get damaged after a while by the turntable for the monitor, lots of bending. We had to replace our cables. Also, have you checked the monitor? We had to replace ours. Our 3AV is 8 years old. James

I need to purchase a rework tool mainly for QFP's including 30mm x 30mm. I was looking at a Metcal QX2 and a Pace TF200. I would welcome any comments on these two products or any other suggestions. Also, is a preheater necessary?

The Metcal will run you around $5,000.00. The Pace is over $6,000.00. Check out Hakko model 852/853 for under $2,000.00 If your in the NewEngland area call us we sell them also.

Has anybody here could provide me good infos regarding BGA rework Kits other than the Flextac Stencil. Also on what sort of fixtures and toolings they provide to help me align the rework stencil onto the BGA pads. Thanks in advance... Hi to Dave F.

MiniMicro stencil has stencils and a holder/aligner. I use their stencils but have not used their tooling. I use the eyeball align - tape and secure method. www.minimicrostencil.com Not affiliated with in any way. Russ
