Round cracks that look like it's from a placement are generally from a too big Delta T in wave (been there done that). All other cracks are anomalies. Ya gotta see it find it.

Questions are: * What is the scale and scope of the problem? * What does the unfilled portion of the barrel look like? * What class of flux is your solder paste?

Hi Davef, Basically there is very poor signs of wetting ,the hole fill from the top of the board is non-existant and we are using 63/37 solder bars (wave solder machine).

I would definitely try a more agressive flux. Are you using a W.S. or No-Clean? And of course check the usual preheat temp flux application dwell time immersion depth

Your best bet would be to browse through you current solder suppliers catalog and pick your alloy. Most of them have a list of alloys and their melting points as well as what form they can be supplied in.

Multicore make a HMP alloy liquidus at 298 degrees, Pb93Sn5Ag2.Ive used it to attatch thermocouples but they're difficult to solder as they dont wet.
