Good morning all, I was wondering if there is a solderability spec or something our purchasing department can order the parts to? Id like to be getting in the best (cleanest, tinned) parts possible to rule out any problems with that before I start at

Our old Trieber Wave Solder machine is needing it's conveyor chains to be cleaned. Does anyone out there have knowledge to share about dealing with this problem?

Thanks for the reply Russ. I did check the archives before I wrote in. Must have put too many words in cause nothing came up. Found it this time. Lots of good info there. Thanks again

Sue, Go to a local hardware store and get yourself some Castrol Super Clean. I think there is some stuff called Zep that works well also. A strong solution of powdered Tide and hot water will well too.

I thought I was the only one left with one of these dinosaurs. How is yours working for you, ours (despite its age) still works pretty well. I think its going on 20 years old now!!

Depending where you are located there may be a training center near your factory. You could have someone visit you on site or you can send someone for training and they can come back to teach others how to inspect. Where are you located??

Consider: * Looking at: http://training.ipc.org/ * Searching with 'google' on 'ipc 610 training' * Having your suppliers train your inspectors, by including your people in the suppliers' on-going training and certification of their staff

SMTnet web email was taken off line due to security issues. Many people were using it as a catch all email and it was getting an immense amount of spam and viruses. We were getting a lot of complaints and it turned into a maintenance nightmare. Neil
