Pb Free Components and Non-Pb Free Solder

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 11 15:57:18 EDT 2003 | Fred Matthews

As the traqnsistion to Pb free manufacturing gains speed and exposure the period between true Pb free solutions and the present is still somewhat distant. Are there any publications or documentation on the use of Pb free components and non-Pb free

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 11 17:42:52 EDT 2003 | Kris

How can one go about defining the complexity of a PCB for characterizing reflow profiles A large balanced board may be easier to profile than smaller unbalanced board ? Any ideas how to define an index to calculate the complexity based on size, weig

Take a look at the product here: http://www.kicthermal.com/products/KIC-Auto-Focus.pdf KIC uses a previously profiled product library to calculate in spec reflow profiles for new products. Just enter you dimensions and if finds a solution for you.

We can solder and clean lead-free in well-controlled and stable processes. We have no reason to believe that products made with lead-free will be reliabile. We know that lead-free soldering is worse for the environment than other less costly proces

We use these but we hand solder. The resistor is basically a wire inside the encapsulant. When we noticed the bowing, we tested about 200 that were on different CCA's. They were all fine. If they want to use these under the wave solder, be sure to lo

Hi All, I work for a contract manufacturing and we are having a new PCB to build. The PCB has OSP coating on it and it has been sitting open in the production floor for about 15 days. I am not sure weather it will affect the soldering process or not

Dave, By Mishandled OSP i meant that it had been touched by bare hands (including pads). Its not like I want to or I donot want to bake these boards. Its just that i want to be sure that the boards will be good to use. And I like your idea to apply
