Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 06 13:46:35 EDT 2015 | deanm

Agree. However the LGA has an even lower standoff, so I would think it would be an even greater challenge. The LGA is a cheaper choice but want to know from those who have done both if the extra cost of the SnPb BGA would pay for itself in lower rew

lead contamination

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 07 13:15:06 EDT 2015 | markhoch

You can most certainly use the same reflow oven for both leaded and lead-free pastes. Obviously your thermal profiles will be different, as the lead-free paste should have a higher reflow temp. As long as your oven has adequate exhaust and flux manag

Thinking of changing Pick and Place from Quads

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 15 11:07:23 EDT 2015 | aj

You should do a bit of research into Mirae Placement machines.. they took over the Quad machines and built on them so your feeders may still be compatible... I only know this because I spoke to an agent last week - I have never used quad or Mirae..

Thinking of changing Pick and Place from Quads

Looking are "new" stencil printers. Have heard a lot of people like the Ekra. I see there are X5s, X4s, and X1s available all over the place. I can't figure out what the differences are. They seem similar, and are similar vintage. Any insight?

Ekra X4 vs X5, Vs X1, etc?

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 14 14:54:00 EDT 2015 | cbeneat

We currently have five X5's. Which we like. My only other experience with other EKRA models was, we had an X3 loaner a few years ago, and after a week of trying to use it we wanted to take a sledge to it...so in a nutshell, X5-great, X3-not so much

In my experience over last 10 years with (Juki, Heller, DEK, Ace, Speedline, Mirtec) they all have good support and are responsive to our needs, whether it is phone/online support or in scheduling a visit. The real differences are with the knowledge
